Pros & Cons :readers would be better informed by a variety of other books on batik, especially by those who have lived among the people who create and wear it.

Pros & Cons :perhaps most often used in brilliant shawls for women's daily wear, batik has even had styles meant to be associated with the aristocracy and are worn to this day for ceremonial occasions.
