Talk about goosebumps! On Christmas Day 3-4 yrs. ago, stranded in the Memphis airport, I visited with a young family also stranded. Was it ACCIDENT? COINCIDENCE? Now get this: the young mom worked for an old friend, Harry Samuels, there in Memphis! I'd known Harry & his cousin Vic in Jonesboro, AR in the 50's & we'd lost touch over the years. BESHERT! I gave her my card, Harry emailed me immediately, and after 50 yrs. we met in Memphis...Harry, wife Flora & 5 of us old gals who had been to our 50th high school reunion in Jonesboro. As we chattered to catch up, I remember reflecting that reading Harry's "Beshert" is like this...talking to Harry...hearing him spin his yarns in person. This book is interesting, captivating, thought provoking, stimulating, fascinating, and just plain dear.... For whatever reason (???)we had been reunited; the IRONY of that unlikely reunion gave me goosebumps, like when I read "Beshert" and the opening story about Vic's & Harry's flying lessons gave me goosebumps. I highly recommend this book. Goosebumps & all! It's in short story form, so (IF you can put it down!)you can read a short section, leave it, and come back to easily pick up where you left off. Thanks for a great read, Harry... and thanks for stocking "Beshert", Amazon.com! Now I'm eager to read Harry's sequel Crossroads: Chance or Destiny?. This special, humanitarian author is generously donating all proceeds of his book to charity;God bless him. Here I come again Amazon.com---straight to your shopping cart! Send me "Crossroads: Chance or Destiny?" asap. I'm hooked!

This is a wonderful book. I know the author and his wife. The stories all touched my heart in some manner. There was a story by and about a mutual friend. This was a wonderful purchase. I hope to see more by this author. Amazon sent the book in good time. My husband and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you, Amazon.

The compelling author's choosing to share his and others' experiences in "Beshert", and the fact that we as readers now have this timeless collection of stories available to us, is no random coincidence...it's synchronicity. Each page serves to weave a web for the reader of emotions like happiness, sadness, hope, and exhilaration, and of physical manifestations like bone chills, goose bumps, and heart thumps. The stories involve events that really happened, but why did they happen? How does a candle that is lit at the same time as others repeatedly extinguish itself long before the others? What makes one person arbitrarily ask another if she knows someone who lives across the country, to find that the parents of one are long lost friends of the other person? Why does a dog sustain an injury at the same time his owner is to leave town, thus causing the owner to cancel his reservation on TWA Flight # 800 which crashed and left no survivors? You must read to begin your journey of finding out. Meaningful, thought-provoking commentary from this obviously thoughtful, well travelled, and wise author enhances the stories and leads to an overall appreciation for the theme of the book. Reader---you must have a thirst for more at this point! I did after each page. Treat yourself to a book we can all relate to that will provoke your thoughts, restore your faith, and leave you wanting more.
