My son is 5 years old and is just starting Kindergarten. I wanted to get a few bedtime story books to read to him to get him in a bedtime "ritual". He is a very active boy, and doesn't usually like for me to read to him. He gets destracted easily and after a minute or so usually, he isn't interested anymore. Well, this book is awesome. The stories aren't minute stories, but they are about 5 minute stories, perfect for bedtime. They are so interesting too. He has not once got bored or stopped listening. What I love about this book is it not only tells a story, but it teaches us about life, in a way a child can relate. Teaches us about love, being thankful, friendship, just so much, and the stories are just so cute & sweet. This isn't a "baby" bedtime book, and it's not scary or weird either, perfect for any child. When I tell my son it's bedtime, he gets so excited now! Even my 12 year old and sometimes my husband want to listen. They all pile up in my son's bed to listen to the story. Another thing I like about this book, is that during the story, sometimes it will ask the listener questions. Like it will say, "don't you think that was nice"?, or "wow, how do you think he felt about that"? And it's so cute because my son always answers the questions! This isn't a picture book. At the end of every story, there is a small, but nice simple drawing of the main characters in each story. My son gets excited when I show him these after the story. I just love this book. I will actually be sad when it ends. The only negative thing I can say about this book, is that I wish there more!

I just found this book in a bookstore, and instantly fell in love with Bob's tales! I read one tale a night to my son and daughter, and we all giggle hysterically at the characters antics. Mr. Morgan's imagination is boundless, and my kids can't get enough. When is Bobtales #2 coming out?
