This book is quickly becoming one of my favorite reference books. Chef Bob has captured the complexities of Southern cooking and brought it into a realm that everyone can understand and enjoy. Bits of info and background on the author are scattered throughout the book. As a fellow Chef I say congratulations on a well written and entertaining manuscript. W. Brian Edwards

The author introduces the reader to cooking the southern way, and gives us a rare glimpse into the life of a chef. The recipes are presented in an easy-to-follow manner, and are terrific... You can really tell after reading this book that this chef loves what he does. These days, that is all too rare.Just an informative and fun book to read (and keep handy in the kitchen at all times!)

This book is so much more than a cookbook... the author takes you into the world of Southern cooking and shares stories from his life. This chef obviously has a real passion for his profession, and it comes through in every page of this book. A must read for anyone interested in cooking or the Southeastern region of the United States. What a wonderful book... I can't wait to get his next one!P.S. -- The recipes are incredible (I especially love the cornbread and the carrot cake... words can't describe that cake!)
