This book is remarkably easy to read and fairly easy to understand. There are many examples and practice questions with answers in the front of the book.

I'm one of those poor souls who had the 'new math' sprung on them in 4th grade (when it was decided we all had to learn Base 2 and get to the Moon) and from then on I was TOTALLY out of the loop in math. Something didn't 'click' and no teacher caught it. I was in the group that a news story said "was ruined for math by the New Math". Unfortunately, my Master's degree includes managerial accounting. I had to drop that class after one session. Nothing made sense. This book to the rescue! As an instructor (not in acctng!), I can tell you it is set up very well. Each concept is taught in little 'bites' and I am able to understand each as I go. I did see a review, here, that said the book was a piece of junk. Even though I have a VERY good instructor in this class, I don't think that's why the book seems so good. As I work in it during the week, it stands on its own very well. I especially appreciate the examples and explanations. We follow a very down-to-earth company through the processes to run a business and keep the books. Nice. Although financial accounting is different from the managerial I must take, I now have the 'basics'. The authors took a LOT of extra time to make it work. Our instructor supplies the PPT presentations (provided with the instructor's copy, I assume) for our use, and they are great to print and take notes on. They are also very helpful if you can use your notes during the exams.
