Although I haven't moved to NYC yet (so I haven't actually used the book), I'm excited to find the cheap and free things my new city has to offer. The book is packed full of information on everything from cheap entertainment to inexpensive haircuts or health care. I can't give it a full 5 stars because I haven't seen if any of their suggestions actually exist yet (I'm sure they do!) but I'll let you know if it's as helpful as it seems now.

I bought this book for each of our daughters in NYC - who already live there - - what a nice surprise that they are getting even more new ideas and ways to save $$$ and enjoy the city life.......

This book was the third New York book I bought after moving to NYC. It does have some interesting ideas about things and ways to do things for free. However, many of the entries are repetetive and are less accurate than the others. I highly recommend Knopf Mapguide of NYC as the best guide book (even though it is less concerned with prices of activities).
