I enjoyed this book, especially since I was born in 1942. Those of us who are oldsters grew up in a fun time. It was also interesting for me since I currently "play" with old Lionel trains, as well as my large View Master collection. We have 2 Christmas trees each year, and it takes me 8 hours to decorate the 9' one. My only nit-pick with the book is that flocked trees were a '50s thing, and aluminum was the '60s...not the other way around.

If you are after nostalgia, this is a must for your library. Add "The Time-Life Treasury of Christmas" cd and the DVDs of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Raindeer" and "Frosty the Snowman" and you will almost feel the excitement of that new Daisy b.b. gun or G.I. Joe or Erector Set under the tree.

my 73 year old mom really enjoyed this book and so did I. It inspired a lot of memories for her and I enjoyed hearing all her memories.
