The book, like any text type book can be dry if simply read. However, this book is full of valuable information. If it is used as a guide and tool in the educational aspect, it will give students insight on that end of the industry which they may not otherwise get in such depth. I use this book in roll playing. I use it to place the student in situational learning environments which may have them as the salon owner in one case, an employee in another, and a customer in a third, etc.. I will continue to use this book without hesitation. My biggest problem with this book is that it is constantly growing legs and walking out of my office, never to be seen again. It is one of those books that I have to keep buying and buying, and still only manage to keep one copy on hand- if it is a good day that is. Couple this tool with a time line of relevant industry periodicals, and your students will have a great foundation for the real world business end of our profession.!
