In all fairness to the writer/publisher I did not ompletely read this book. I am new to VS2005 having taught myself VB since Version 3. VS2005, in my opinion is a whole new species of programming. This book is not for the beginner with VS2005. This book tells you where the various features, wizards, helpers and the like are thoughout VS2005. Doesn't give much info on how to program with VS2005. I recommend "Start-To-Finish Visual Basic 2005" by Tim Patrick for the beginner VB2005.NET.

There should be a class taught on Visual Studio by itself. This book is excellent. Highly recommend if having trouble learning Visual Studio.

I started a new job a while back and found myself using VS2005 for the first time after years of using VS6. I was looking for a book to get me up to speed, and there are few titles out there. While this book had some useful info I found that it wasn't terribly useful for a programmer writing C++ in a non-.NET environment. Most of the coding examples are in other languages and mainly targeted towards .NET. If you're working in that environment you may find this more useful than I did.
