The Hal Leonard series overall is quite good -- once one accepts the fact that you'll really, really, really want to learn some of these songs and will feel lukewarm about others. The transcriptions of the original bass lines in notation and tablature are plenty accurate enough and provide a jumping off point if you want to improvise your own bass lines. The play-along CD-Rom and software that allows the user to change tempo without affecting pitch is wonderful. The one quibble I have with this volume is that the MIDI voices are not as accurate to the original recordings of the songs as they are in some of the other volumes in the series. Also, the pitch of these songs is not A=440, unlike the other volumes I've used. This means that you either have to retune your bass, or you have to use the pitch adjustment slider in the play-along software. So, there are ways around the pitch challenge, but the recordings really should be A=440 "out of the box."
