This book is extremely superficial in its approach to defining a career and job search, so superficial as to possibly do more harm than good. Poorly written, this volume that might be of some use to the novice job seeker but of little use to anyone seeking more detailed and substantiated information. The chapter on writing resumes is almost useless.

This is it a must read! I read Shifting Into Higher Gear a year ago and just recently picked it up an read it again. The lessons in this book will help you identify your true calling and lead you to a happier, heathier and more prosperous life.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the authors translated theory into practical exercises and reflection, and how these tools naturally built on each other to deepen your insights. You will walk away from this book with a much better understanding of your core values and how to translate them into meaningful and fulfulling work and activity, even if you are not "looking" for a career move. This book makes a perfect gift for students or recent graduates, as well as producing a deeper understanding of self, and how to acutalize it in the most fulfulling ways, for those of us who are older.
