this is a WONDERFUL book for rookies to the spa world, but a waste of time and money for anyone who has ever even worked as a spa receptionist. for $50 i expected a little more substance and strategic advice (as the title hints to) as opposed to hand-holding spa 101. and don't you think for $50 it should be hardcover and have color pictures? grossly over-priced in my opinion. i had it packaged and ready for return within 15 minutes of receiving it.

I am teaching a college-level course in resort/spa management and have little "hands-on" experience in spa management. This book has helped with basic spa operation information and is targeted at the potential spa owner/manager with good specific details. A little "pricey" but a good resource for the spa business.

This is the perfect book for those entering the spa business and for those who would like to take their spa to the next level. The author points out pseveral pitfalls and instructs the reader how to avoid them, illustrates the importance of a business plan and offers helpful hints for success. In addition, there is well researched guidance on marketing. I would rate this book a must-have for budding spa owner and seasoned spa owners. Andre
