Reading this book is like having a several hour, sit down with Elyse and having someone take down every word for you. For someone who doesn't have the opportunity to spend all day with a rep of the Elyse's caliber and hire someone to take notes, this book is the next best thing (or maybe even better). If you want to grow your photo business you need this book first and you should also get the new book by Amanda Sosa Stone and Suzanne Sease, who worked with Elyse and still work as photo reps/negotiators. If you think I'm exaggerating just check out their free webinar and judge for your self. Scroll down to Dec 16. http://sosastone.typepad.com/ Robert phcDesigns

I'm a portrait/wedding photographer who is just starting out on my own. I thought this book would be helpful to get more business. Unfortunately, this book is geared more towards someone who wants to sell their work to advertising agencies or other print media. I gleaned a few things from the book, but overall it was not what I needed. I think the title is a bit misleading.

I like this book a lot. It has ton's of useful information, has a lot of images-examples, information about industry, good tips almost on every aspect of marketing for photographers. The only reason why I didn't gave it all-star rating is that I have found some info in there out-dated. Still, I'd get it if I were you.
