I am an integral coach who does a lot of work with career changers who are looking to align their career with their most important values in a fulfilling way. I also do career counseling work with young people who are confused about their future direction. A shortcoming I find to most approaches to looking at career are that ignore a lot of the interior right hemisphere work and jump the gun in terms of matching a person's skills to the needs of the market. Unfortunately, just because you have a certain skill doesn't mean you will enjoy using it or find fulfillment in a position that draws heavily on areas where you have the highest aptitudes. In order to make the best possible career choices, it is important to look at your values, the skills you most enjoy using and look beyond purely logical approaches to making decisions. Rick Jarow's Guide to Finding Your Perfect Job uses techniques that help you to get beyond your conditioning and habitual ways of thinking. He utilized meditation techniques and visualizations that help you to get out of our own way and get at the areas that have the most meaningful to you. Armed with this knowledge, you can make much more effective career choices and see through the things that are blocking you from having the job you want. Honestly, I don't like some of Rick Jarow's other more comprehensive works nearly as much as this concise tape. However, if you like this you may want to try some of his other resources. In short, this tape will get you out of your head, into your heart and put you in touch with what is most meaningful to you. If you have a strong internal critic, this tape might be particularly helpful.
