Carlos and Damalie are the hottest couple. I cheered them on from the beginning and I cried when things went wrong for them. Each book just hooks you and keep you coming back for more.

The Bitten is the 4th installment in L.A. Banks' Vampire Huntress Legend series. I must say after reading the first 3, this one is quite a bit better than its predecessors. Minion and The Awakening were good reads and necessary since they hold so much of the back story. The Hunted was a great story and I enjoyed reading it, but The Bitten is my favorite so far. I kind of look at it like a 3 book buildup to the good stuff. This series just keeps getting better as it goes along. Damali and Carlos struggle to keep their alliance secret from the Vampire Councilmen who reside in the 6th level of hell, while trying to find the sacred key and seal that has been compromised. The deception and intrigue is thick, and just trying to keep up the fa??ade is taxing on both of them. What I liked: This is a classic tale of good vs. evil but, as with anything else, there are gray areas. Things are not always what they appear. Ms. Banks mixes Strategy, Romance, Supernatural creatures, Action and Drama all into one tale. There is a little something for everyone. What I didn't like: Not much. The first couple of books seemed a bit slow. But this one definitely picks up the pace. Last word: Throughout this series there are some very steamy scenes between Damali and Carlos. So if you like that kind of thing, you are in luck. If you don't, I would say read it anyway and skim over those scenes. The rest of the story is worth it. I am dying to read the next book in this series, The Forbidden. I think I am getting hooked. Stay tuned.... Reviewed by Christel
