This book does not have very many interesting ideas - certainly nothing elegant or "new". The focus is on "make it yourself" craft projects, though the instructions for making the things are very general (no step by step instructions or templates to use). They are also "low end" ideas, as if the author assumes you don't live near a good craft store or that cost is very important to you and you don't want to spend ANY money on favors and decorations. If you are at all "crafty", you will not be inspired by these ideas because you could easily think of something better yourself. However, if you're on a tight budget, and/or you don't consider yourself very creative, perhaps this book will give you new ideas or encouragement to try to make something. Equivalent ideas for the food and games suggested in this book can all be easily found for free on the Internet...

I've an up comming baby shower to give and after reading carefully thru this book I will use at least 3 ideas from it. I've given many baby showers and and am tired of the same ol same ol, so I'll see how my guest react to some of the new ideas I use. I'm glad I purcased this one, there are many out there and I was very glad to be able to get a glimpse of the content before purchasing, that is the reason I choose this over many others, the glimpse.

Recently I was put in charge of the decorations for a close friend's baby shower. I went to the party supply stores, but couldn't find anything I really liked, so I bought this book. Wow! Each party theme includes ideas for invitations, food, decorations, games, thank you notes... everything! I'm not really going with a theme, but am taking different ideas from different themes and putting them all together. I bought another book along with this one, but was very disappointed in it. This book is really all you'll need!
