This story started out very creative and interesting. I loved Samantha's friend, Gemini, and her alcoholic cats - very funny. But the romance was a BIG DUD! First of all, the story should have been told in the first person because its told entirely from the heroine's POV so you never get inside the hero's head. You never get to know him - at all! When Sam begins to fall for Christian its completely unbelievable because I kept wondering - WHY? I had to keep in mind that this is an edited audio version so I continued to wait for the romance to deepen. It never happens. Sam is just suddenly "In Love."Also what I found completely distracting was the fact that Christian would make stupid remarks that were meant to be funny but at totally inappropriate times - like when both their lives were in danger. What really gets me was the fact that Christian never really reveals his love for Sam. It's implied - but through a mutual acquantance! I'm sorry if I've offended Fern Michaels fans, but this tops my list for big disappointments.

Whisper My Name by Fern Michaels is a great book. Samantha is a wonderful character and you are pulling for her from the 1st. Couldn't put the book down once I started it.
