Writing to Cuba Filibustering and Cuban Exiles in the United States. The book deals with Cuban writers living and writing in the United States starting in the late 1840s and 1850s: Teurbe Tolon, Cirilo Villaverde,Gaspar Betancourt Cisneros, Juan Clemente Zenea, Jose Marti, Pedro Santacilia, etc. They wrote poetry, novels, newspapers articles, and pamphlets, grouped and organized Cuban exiles in the United States and through their writings and actions spread the ideas of anexionism and political independence to Cubans living in the United Staes and Cuba. I have never read a book so well documented dealing with the influence of these men in the destiny of Cuba. Buy it, its unique! Andres
